Interesting topic opened. People like you are rare. I think a lot of people send their music with the expectation of something to happen. As for people who want to be signed, i guess its the thrill to share it to the rest of the world and to be able to be part of a movement, to meet with people you appreciate.
That's a bit why i like to release music. I also have tons of tracks i keep for myself. I guess its a bit like cooking; sharing is a great pleasure but also, cooking for yourself is another thing too.
