Way most of my stuff I play has an original bpm of 120-132, and I usually play something like 126-128, so as you can see most of my tracks has no problem to fit, that's why the bpm thing seemed a bit strange to me.

Nice topic.

All my files are stored in alphabetical order, something like:
album artist_album title_catalog number_year

Then for each track:
track number_artist_title

All my files are named and tagged consistently, thanks to foobar2000 and its discogs plugin. Foobar2000 is quite a PITA to configure but in the end you can rename and tag your tracks to your exact taste!

Then Serato computes the BPM.

In Serato I mostly do "random" mixing sessions: sort by BPM (or whatever), drop a track, then browse a few tracks and choose one by ear. Then if a track is really outstanding, copy it into a (virtual) crate. Repeat :)

Sometimes, use the crate only for something more solid.

The crate contains only good tracks and, as I use them often, I happen to know them quite good.

Well, that's the way I go, it's probably not perfect so share your experience guys!
