Well here I am to defend my country.

Lay off the youtube videos to get your impression of what millions of people are doing as a whole. I've been to countless parties here with minimal dj's and people dance their asses off. It's all going to depend where you go, who the dj is and what they are playing. Maybe the video you watched was of a warmup dj and that's why no one was dancing. I don't know. But please don't get this crazy idea like Americans don't dance, because that is just crazy!
