Studio microphones

Post by Shadi Megallaa »

Yooo peeeps.. Its time for me to invest in a good studio microphone.. Preferably one without too much background noise.. One of the local stores in Zurich recommended me a Samson mic.. If anyone has any suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to let me know.. thanks in advance.. peeeeace

mmhh it depends on what you need to record (voice, instruments, or field recordings...) but i'm not so impressed by samson microphones...
check eventually also

Well, I need it for all those things.. up till now i've used my iriver H-340 to record.. Its got an internal mic that records at 128 kpbs.. for field recordings, I was thinking of getting the Edirol R-1, will check out that site.. but mainly i need it to record instruments and vocals..

As far as I know... an Oktava will be worth it only if you have a preamp and converters to match it's quality... no?

true enough!

Anyway... going all the way with a good Mic/pre/compressor/converter is allll worth it, to my ears. It sounds so good when it sounds good and detailed, especially the voice.

One day *sigh*.... sick of borrowing that gear all the time.
