Re: Sorry to bother you...
A dj set is when you are mixing records, cds, .mp3 or whatever via turntables. If you see someone spinning on turntables, its a dj set.reppihcs wrote:Hey guys, what's a 'Live PA'? What's the difference with a dj set?
Listening to the dj set right now...great stuff! Thanks!
A live PA is the artist who plays and mixes their own tracks on the machines used to create the music. If you see someone playing on electronics(other than turntables) its a live pa.

Thanx minimal house. When a DJ is announced to play "LIVE" on e.g. a flyer, does this mean he/she will be doing a PA? (When other DJ's are also listed to play on that night, without the addition "LIVE" I mean)minimal house wrote:A live PA is the artist who plays and mixes their own tracks on the machines used to create the music. Thanks John, id like to hear what a fine dj like yourself thinks.John wrote:Downloading the dj mix now Tom.
Ive been mixing records for about 1.5 years. I like to tweek the sh!t out of the eqs...lots of eq variations happening in this mix. To me its all about how you play the records.
re: rephics
yes, if someone is billed as "LIVE" that generally means that they will be playing on live electronics be it laptop, hardware or banging garbage cans together. Not all the time will the promoter bill the artist as "live" though, that usually depends on the promoter(s) involved.
