What you are looking for is commonly called a device ID. Device ID numbers are not found commonly in home studio, techno guy/girl set ups so you don't see a lot about it anymore. Most older drum machines used 12 bit (or lower) samples for things like high hats or snares (depending on the machine). Thus it has continued all the way through the jomox gear. It's really the bass and toms that are synthesized most of the time using a sine generator.
