The process of downloading and installing their free stuff annoys me.

Yeah, Sample Magic have some really good sample packs, Mutekki Media too. However, I prefer to make my own packs, either by creating the samples myself or collecting them from different sources. Give studio one a try too, you might like it. Although, if I were you I'd probably go for Logic Pro 9. Studio One and Live cost just as much as Logic, but logic offers more (imo) in terms of included instruments and effects. Man i was thinking if i have a track that is a lil bit clipping on the master channel and i just put on it a limiter to - 0.2 or something like that, and than i send it to master there will be any kind of problem? If the overall dynamics of the track aren't affected by that, then it shouldn't be a ...
