I use cubase and live (I know them both really well). There are some limits in live when it comes to "traditional" daw features, but when I work with cubase I realise how beautiful live works - I have to say I really miss many things from live when I work with cubase. I mainly use live in ...

genelec 8040 without sub?

hi, I'm about to buy to buy a pair of genelec 8040. In most reviews I've read there was the opinion that you don't necessarily need a sub for them. I've heard them at a store, but the acoustics was so bad that I can't say too much about the sub bass response. Does someone have a opinion about them? ...

I think it is very useful to combine performance with creation. That way, art stays fresh and interacts with people... I think this is a good point, actually that's one point why I started djing (recently). And It's good to see reactions from people when you play music to them. It seems that most p...

Raddler: Thanks!

An interesting addition to this question would be, do you buy music regularly(cd, vinyl, mp3 tracks)? Are you informed about the releases in your musical niche?

Or do you just listen to the various sets (from RA for example)?

Or do you listen mainly to your own music?

do you dj too?

Purely out of curiosity I'd like to know how many producers here dj too (digital, vinyl, cdj, only at home, doesn't matter). I think it's a great addition, because you have to look deeper into the music as if you are 'just' listening to it and it's a good training for your 'rhythmical hearing'. Of c...

I don't own or have reason... I have cubase and ableton :-)

...but I think you're right. I finally came to the conclusion to use both side by side and don't be afraid to render the audio within to change the sequencer in the middle of a track... if I feel the urge.

Quasi best from both world.

Thanks so far for your answers, it's good to hear what other people think. as I said before, the problem with rewire slaves is: - you can't use vst and vstI - you have no audio in (can't use it as an FX generator for cubase) - no midi out so it's pretty useless for me as a production tool as I don't...
