im getting frustrated.... I tried like 5 different programs to record my sound card output, but non of them did actually work :x I also tried to convert it like AK said, still not that. It's my favourite kick ever. A friend of mine has a real 808 and I'd love one of my own as and when. I fell in live with the sound back when I first heard electronic music as a kid from the likes of Cybotron / Juan Atkins and other Electro / Techno guys. I think you are simply loading the samples into the default settings on the Impulse. For a start off, they are always too 'loud', this can cause them to clip and distort slightly, also, the decay is, by default, set to a shorter time than your samples duration would be.
