[Connaisseur003] Markus Müller - Chateaubriand

Post by Connaisseur »

Hello fellows!

ARTIST: Markus Müller
TITLE: Chateaubriand
LABEL: Connaisseur Recordings
CAT.NO.: CNS003-6
RELEASEDATE: May 3rd, 2006
STYLE: Hypnotic Minimal / Emo-Electro

TRACKS:

-> A: Chateaubriand
-> B1: Béarnaise
-> B2: Chateaubriand (Mariel Ito Rmx)

Until now Markus’ productions, who chose Cologne as his new home, were located inbetween pragmatically crunchy funk and dreamy minimalism. Having released on Festplatten and Traum, he has now found his third homebase on Connaisseur, where he shows his groovier side.

Markus presents absolutely brilliant tracks, which integrate perfectly in every afterhour madness, somewhere between early morning and eternity.

To complete this stunning release, we have added a remix from Mariel Ito aka Maetrik on this ep to introduce our sympathetic American label mate before he hits the floor with his own release on Connaisseur.

Chateaubriand is not only a French political leader, diplomat, and writer who is considered a forerunner of romanticism - it is also a double-thick, tender cut of beef tenderloin, sometimes stuffed with seasonings prior to being grilled. We serve our Chateaubriand as a hypnotic minimal techno track with a mindblowing melody and an extra portion of crypto-funk.

Béarnaise is a rich classic French sauce made by the reduction of vinegar, wine, tarragon and shallots and finished with egg yolks and butter. Equally rich in every way, our Béarnaise is a minimalistic groove tool with a propulsive and never ending bass.

Chateaubriand (Mariel Ito Rmx) transfers the original into his own futuristic emo-electro universe and will surely cause a severe earthquake on every intelligent dancefloor.

Markus is very talented producer, loved his Chives release on Traum!

The Chateau track reminds me a bit of a certain release but can't put my finger on who with that funky synth work but definately grooved out solid piece! The B1 is killer, just a chugger for the floor and dig Ito's electro vibe on the title track.

Nice pool of talent showing up on Cnsr. keep it going with the solid releases.
