so i was wondering, all those sounds that can be purchased, like the vengeance stuff or even the sample library that comes with battery and so on, where do they come from?

i mean, are they all synthesised, or sampled from records, or what?

i think they have that yea, but unfortunately i dont have a sample cd to check it. anyone? im really curious about this whole thing.

i mean this whole sample cd thing must have been all just sampled sounds from various records, but maybe over time it changed.

I would imagine that many are recording from older synths / drum machines and then processed / effected. In that way they're (almost) original.

Probably a fair chunk of them are processed samples from other sources - old records etc (and other sample cd's!!!!!)

drum hits can of course be recorded with a microphone, of a drum kit.
