Hello,
I've been working on a beat, I added these vocals and just started writing a bassline. Im trying to get it in Key. I ran it through Melodyne and mixed in key, came up with E Flat Major. So I've been playing all the notes in E Flat Major and this is what I've came up with.

I'm really hoping someone can suggest some alternative notes or if they can help decide the key. I have messed around with it, playing different notes but still trying to develop an ear for what sounds best, I found playing the third last note one semitone up witch is B sounds nice but its not in the key of E flat major?
Appreciate any Help, Thanks
Need Some Bassline to Vocals, scale theory help on my track.

I'm hearing G# minor. Play I IV V in G# minor and it fits snug. You don't need to know anyway, just play notes that work to your ears

Ok, just not sure what you mean by
What do the roman numbers correlate with, with what keys? And are you trying to refer to a chord or a sequence of notes? I think you mean a chord a looked it up but got confusedAK wrote:Play I IV V in G# minor and it fits snug.
Re: Need Some Bassline to Vocals, scale theory help on my tr
it refers to a chord series based on a scale .... I IV V is probably the most common one

Every scale has diatonic chords based on each scale degree. When talking about chord progressions, roman numerals are used, in this case, 1, 4 and 5. Basically, all I was saying was play the 1, 4 and 5th chord in G# minor ie: G#m, C#m, D#m. The I IV V chords are the most important of a given scale, it can be used to establish a key signature of a track as they pretty much work over anything.shubelo wrote:Ok, just not sure what you mean byWhat do the roman numbers correlate with, with what keys?
