Anyone else buy Plastikman Arkives Reference? Just got mine yesterday.
The remasters alone are worth it. They sound excellent to those with a system that will really wing this out. During my brief A/B comparisons, the Arkives remasters are definitely more dynamic and cleaner with better S/N.
There is also a ton of exclusive and new content for the hardcore early Plastikman fan, including a bunch of original (era) tracks I've never heard.
The hardcover book—with text by P. Sherburne—is really nice as well. Some interesting stories and great photos of the early scene for those who were there. Still working my way through this.
Overall, this is a really high quality set and you can tell a TON of work went into this. It's a bit nostalgic for me, and although I've owned all the originals since they came out in the 90s, I'm really into going through the CDs one by one, listening from front to back. Still on Recycled Plastik (CD02) right now; Musik and Artifakts have always been my faces so there are good things to come.
14 more CDs to go. Should be a fun weekend.
