Hey and hi! have i made a faux-pas there? my sequencer master channel says -5db so thats what i quote..

and this is what a reputable mastering house request for headroom levels anf for me this is quiet with some headroom.

am i missing something in a measurement translation? enlighten me!

You were saying you could deliver a mixed (but unmastered) file with a peak amplitude of -5dB and/or a quick mastered version. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think that was misinterpreted as saying you would deliver a mastered file with a dynamic range of -5dB RMS...

! aha, i see! yes, a quick mastered file would be hott i dont measure i just see how hot it goes without breaking the sound!

Master-ready would be -5db and i work with lowish levels in my DAW, seems to sound better :) !
