[KOM177] Matias Aguayo - Minimal
Matias Aguayo - Minimal
Released: Jul 2008
Catalogue Number: KOM177
Date: 2008-07-09
Closer Musik's Matias Aguayo crops up again for one of the best cuts in recent Kompakt history with the ironically titled 'Minimal' EP. Taking a well aimed pop at the overcrowded and omnipresent techno style, Aguayo sidesteps the genre's conventions by including a full on vocal line ripping the piss out of music with "no groove, no balls" over a slinky Latin disco new wave type backing rhythm that should definitely be finding favour on the most self aware floors around. The dry-as-fck fun doesn't stop there though, Marcus Rossknecht's remix beefs up the bassline and the disco elements but sticks faithfully close to the original while Koze gives it the full buttered disco vibes with perfectly filtered chords and a slow burning disco vibe with massive pop appeal. Ace.
