Varoslav, returns to the label fresh from the success of his beautiful 'SoccaSoul' track that appeared on the recent 'Bird Language EP'. This release, combined with singles for Tishomingo and Je T'Aime, have seen his reputation as one of the most exciting new DJ/Production talents, grow at an astonishing rate. The admiration from his peers has allowed to him play some of the finest clubs in Europe, including the Panorama Bar and Weekend club in Berlin, the Silo [Leuven], Studio 80 [Amsterdam], and Underground in Ibiza.
Experiences that have proved to be very inspiring.
After a thorough road testing in his own DJ sets, it is a great pleasure for him to finally present his "Inside Ways" EP.
This EP see's Varoslav team up with Paris-based trio and long time friends 'dOP'. As a band dOP aka Clement Zemstov, Damien Vandesande & Jonathan "JoJo" Illel, are quite new to the electronic scene. Having written and produced music in styles as diverse as Jazz, Salsa, Reggae, Rock n Roll and Hip Hop, dOP are currently enjoying a new found success with their 'House' productions. Being able to call upon their enviable archive of influences, their recent releases on 'Circus Company', 'Milnormodern, 'Eklo' and 'Orac', have proved to be some of most exciting, organic and fresh sounding productions of the past twelve months.
Varoslav and dOP's friendship stretches way back to their younger days as members of a hip-hop band. In recent times the guys have again found a mutual admiration of each others sounds and vision, and so it made complete sense for them to team up. Jonathan from the band recorded some vocals with Varoslav and this proved to be the beginning of a new collaboration. The 'Inside Ways EP' is the first fruit of their labour.
Title track 'Inside Ways' is a real melting pot of sounds. A real jackin flavour, with a slight African percussive influence, and a perfect balance of drama and atmosphere.
Rigole has a straight up, utterly delicious 4/4 groove. Jonathan provides the sultry vocals, and with Varoslav dropping those great tom's, vocal samples, and the always welcome cowbell, we have one funky mama on our hands!
With all of this exciting new talent on show, it was only right to draft in yet another on remix duty. Dutch DJ/Producer Boris Werner is a member of the new wave of talent coming out of Amsterdam. As part of the 'Remote Area' crew, he, alongside guys such as Lauhaus and 2000 and One, are making and releasing some of the finest, emotion filled house and techno of today. His debut releases 'Matchmaker' and 'Revenge of the Nerds', instantly won him an army of fans. His 'No Day Like Monday' single was an huge hit, finding support from the like of Magda, Raresh, D'Julz and many more.
Boris drops his remix of 'Inside Ways', with touches of psychedelia, and wonderful percussion. They make for a stunning, trippy workout.
