closing distributors

at the risk of sounding insensitive, with distributors amato and now syntax going bankrupt, what happens to all the remaining stock? my thoughts geniunely do go out to people who lose their jobs as a result of a changing and harsh market, but its something I've been wondering about.

sometimes the stock is returned to the label, sometimes the stock is destroyed....

or i heard stories where it just vanish... but between you and i, they make some superwholesales to shops or something.

Yeah, when Integrale went down we never saw our stock of records again.

They sell it off and pay some of the debt but the small labels never get paid. Thats what they did to us.....
