any good ableton live djs ???
Ok, i know, it must be the 110025th time the question is asked. Do you know any (famous or not ) good djs who only use Ableton Live for their sets, apart from Richie Hawtin (who does it from time to time) ? The only one i've seen (with my own eyes & ears) was Surgeon (not really convincing but i don't think it was due to his tools). It's not a thread about ableton djs vs wax djs (please,it seems like a useless debate anyway!). I'm just curious and starting fooling around with Ableton and was wondering...how many are out there ?

I use Ableton for :
DJing
Sound design
Live PA's both on my own and as part of a Chris Clarke/Funksturong style band called Vent.
I use it with midi controllers and a whole pile of outboard gear.
I also occasionally use turntables - though I prefer digital now, I'm still not getting rid of my vinyl despite the fact that I don't really need it any more - I have most of my record collection digitized.
If you want to determine wether I'm any good or not - you can check my ableton only mixes here :
www.avionixrecords.com
the mixes in question are Scanning pattern v1 and v2 - If you like electronic/minimal/dub/electro/techno - you can't go far wrong - I did use some outboard when I mixed them - a qy700 for extra drums (soft 808 style kicks and stuff) and a line6 echo pod for feedback and extra delay,
Lembrouille also does a good mix - all digital , but he doesn't use ableton for it.
surgeon/Regis almost exclusively use ableton these days.
Autechre use it as well I hear - used to be a tower of electronics when you used to see them live, nowadays they just use laptops - much more stipped down and dance friendly - not as proper tho - I am humbed by autechre when they do a "proper" gear set - when they use ableton - it's more like DJing - they don't seem to mix it up with outboard and stuff.
I hear a lot of folk are using max/msp for live stuff now , but it seems to be a PC killer - so many times have I seen it crash - I stick with ableton , it's the damage.
