[BE] 19-11-04 | I LOVE MINIMAL @ Soundstation, Liège
I went to take a look to this party
beginning was nice, deep and minimal stuff
but tobias thomas... well... initially he played minimal stuff
but then he started playing all that electro rock clash bullshit
far from minimal... I really don't like what kompakt is doing now
the're fucking it all up
we don't even have a decent minimal scene and already things are going terribly wrong
same as what happened to electro...

but I think this tobias is on of the less kompakt-crew who play this kinda sh!t then.. kompakt = still minimal (in overall)
Peace Out
i was going with pierre but he got a phonecall a bit before midnight that he didn't have to come to liège because there would have been only 10 people at that time.
first of all this is NOT done imho, secondly i doubt if this was true, anyone that can confirm?
i'm affraid that he just didn't felt like paying pierre and make some more profit (his name had been on the flyer anyway

sorry, but that is no reason!!
than don't book him at all! that's his job you know, he could have easily got another booking if he had known earlier, but now that's just a night without income, think about it that way of course it's not a money issue, it's just not done.
i still think the organiser is lame :p
big ass international dj's don't have that problem coz they sign contracts and would still get paid even if the organiser cancels..

hey guys,
First of all Tobias played very well and he's mixing like that for quiet a long time now, his style can be very deep, eclectic & sometimes pop-minded, but that has always been the Kompakt-thing !!
About the money, we just had enough to pay, yes the big international dj, because there was a contract and also because we really wanted him to play that night. We called Pierre who lives in Brussels (1hour to Liege) and told them not to play that night because there wouldn't be enough people coming to pay him decently. He agreed with us because he knows how that kind of things can happen...
The night was a bit confusing at the beginning but then people arrived around 1 o'clock (around 200 in total) and danced in a really cool atmosphere.
Music was excellent !!

first of all, hi and welcome
second, i sincerely hope that it doens't happen to often to you, to sit at home waiting and preparing your discs to get ready and than get a call that you don't have to show up (and will loose approximately half of your salary of that week)
that sh!t can happen, of course, but that's the problem of the organisor solely.
you're the ones taking a risk to do a party
- in liege
- the week after ilt with the mnml allstars dreamteam on the decks
- with only one big (?) name
- ... (i'm just summing up what could have maybe been the reasons for the lack of people)
i don't think the people doing this party are newbies, so why taking those risks.
and if you do, take the consequences..
that's my idea about it.
and i missed the party because of that!
cheers
