Peep stands for Positive & Exceptional Electronic Pleasures. Positive as in: with a big smile on our faces, letting it all go and having big fun on the dance-floor till the morning comes. Exceptional as in: we keep believing in life and music and like to express this in an exceptional way, with our friends, connected as one, on a universal beat!
Electronic as in house, house and more house music all night long! Pleasure as in: this is what we love and this is how we do it! The future is here, right now and we bring it to you on Peep!
On this edition we’ve invited no less than three artists from all corners of Germany, the country by excellence to spearhead the latest house sounds. All have played seminal roles in this new revival: one since quite some time even though he started late, the other more recently and the last one since the early beginnings.
We start off with Tobi Neumann who discovered house and techno at the age of 33 on his first Love Parade in 1996. Since then, he’s worked his way up to one of Sven Väth’s Cocoon gang and regularly plays at Cocoon events all over the world as well as leading clubs and parties as Fabric in London, Panorama Bar/ Berghain and Weekend club in Berlin as well as Robert Jonson in Frankfurt. He showed us his mixing skills on compilations for London’s Secretsundaze and Cocoon’s Green & Blue.
Next up, a guy who only started producing 5 years ago but who’s extremely in demand all over the world at the moment: Nick Curly. He’s one of the figureheads of the so called ‘Mannheim sound’ represented by two labels he’s involved in namely 8bit and Cecille Records on which a lot of his productions, including his debut album ‘Between the Lines’ appeared. He’s also a big favorite of both Defected and Cocoon Recordings, unarguably two of the biggest labels around. He not only produces for both but also plays on their events in Ibiza on a regular basis.
And third but not least, Marc Romboy hails from Dusseldorf and started his ventures in house music as far back as 1994 with ‘Le Petit Prince’. Ten years later this was followed by the Systematic label which is extremely popular till today. It features artists as Booka Shade, Gui Boratto, Blake Baxter, Terrence Parker, Spirit Catcher and many, many more. It also features Marc’s three albums as well as his collaborations with Stephan Bodzin. Next to that you can also find Marc’s tracks on Stephan’s Hertzblut Recordings and Josh Wink’s Ovum label. A true veteran with a passion for Chicago house and much more!
Resident Spacid also started dj-ing as early as the nineties and mainly as a house dj. before promoting all kinds of underground electronic music and playing more techno. Now that the deep house vibe from the early days is resurfacing in a new jacket, his love for house has been rekindled and the last couple of years he’s stepped up with his house sets again. For this occasion, he will be teaming up with Leesa, the hottest djane from Ghent who does not only have a great track record behind the decks but also in the studio with 4 very well received ep’s on Atmosphere Records and a residency on Studio Brussels Playground.
He will be joined by Pete Howl, the new King of the after-parties in Ghent. A dj with lots of ‘Tijgerkracht’ who brought a lot of great names to Decadance as well as playing the late slots himself and appearing on other events as Nachtvogels, Nachtwacht and many more!
