How To Kill is a new endeavor from Detroit collective F.A.M.E. These anonymous artists have been involved in the Detroit dance music scene for over 15 years in various capacities. Some hold DJ residencies at Detroit's current mecca for dance music, TV Lounge, others have had releases on Apollo Records, Two Circles, and Sly Fox Records. The collective had it's first release this year on Greg Wilson's A&R edits imprint, which was well received and found it's way to the top ten on Juno's disco charts. But don't let that give you any preconceived notions, this release is anything but a disco edit.

A1 - "Like That" is a confluence of house and juke influences from the Atlanta, Georgia based Broodlings featuring Al Hype. Smooth chords and jacking 808 drums provide a lush backdrop to the chorus "I like that, work all day, play all night"

A2 - "Leave With Us Master" comes from Marshall Applewhite, a pseudonym of Joel "OktoRed" Dunn. OktoRed has releases on Yo Sucka, and Juke Trax. Dark distorted drums and an arpeggiated synth line bring classic Detroit electro to mind, but in practice this one is a pure 4x4 dance floor burner. Test pressings have gotten play from the likes of Mike Huckaby and have proven their efficacy in making a crowd move.

B1 "Wet" & B2 "Tips" are the product of F.A.M.E.'s obsessive experimentation. The music is nothing short of dark, sleazy techno, with an eye for happy accidents and shuffled drum programming. Throbbing sub bass and disjointed vocals create an atmosphere that makes you want to dance first and take a shower later.
