Music program for producing

What is a good program to make and produce minimal and techno tracks.
I was thinking about Mackie traktion 2.
Can somebody give me a good advice.

If you're just starting out you won't be worrying about the things that Torque mentions in the above thread, that stuff is for later on. I say download the demo of Ableton Live and see how you like it, download a demo of Reason and see how you like it, download demos of other things, and then buy the one you like best.

Ableton is great to start,alos reason,becuase of its real world desing,you'll experience the feel of working with real synths and samplers.

I try to work with reason but can't get interesting sound out of Subtractor and Malstrom Synth ... Grrrrr :evil:

Do you know where we can find explication about bass, kick, equalizers, compression, ... everything :D
