cleaning vinyl is easy, the problem why there are maschines who cost a lot for it is the drying process.
when you clean your vinyl, you make it wet with some solvent. but now your record is not clean, the dirt is just dissolved in the liquid. if you let the liquid dry the liquid evaporates and the dirt is again in the grooves but this time even more evenly distributed over the whole record.
what is essential for a cleaning maschine is, that it doesnt let the liquid just evaporate, most cleaning maschines suck the liquid out of the grooves with a strong suction device. the dirt is dissolved in the liquid and the liquid is removed from the vinyl.

thats the cheapest one i found which offers all whats needed, the arm is not a cleaning device, its the suction device, you put the liquid onto the vinyl yourself and distribute it with the brush. the maschine only spins the vinyl and sucks the liquid off.

I'd think I'd have to agree. to me : any cleaner is just going to temporally help but longer term damage your vinyl. I tread my records like total sh!t, and have never used any cleaner ever on any of them.. and I still play them all today that I bought 10 years or more ago..Moif wrote:Washing up liquid in tepid water does the trick just fine.

Re: vinyl cleaner!
i recommend an electric drill macine, a record center hole fitting drill and a normal cleaning machine
- clean the record with the cleaning machine
- put the record on the drill which is mounted in the electric drill and give some rotations
Got best results with it, my records look like new, no dust spots, not much crackling noises!!

Wood glue has worked a treat on some of my records, would really recommend it.
