Hey folks ... i need a new turntable. And because the Technics MK5 is tooooo expensive i found this one in the DE:BUG:

I wasn't aware that the 1210's had actually been discontinued until I saw this post. I remember all the rumors, back when they were rumors.
But I am actually pretty shocked. I would have thought they would sell it off rather than just stop production.

I can see them becoming like analogues synths tho. Give it 20 years and every Dj will want 1210's like a producer wants a model D moog! :lol:

why don't you get a MK2 if the MK5 is too much?

cause i dont want to buy it used from someone at ebay ... if you now a serious seller who gives warranty i will check it.

with this one i have 2 years warranty and the easy option to digitalize my records ... ; )

Might wake up the dead but I was in the similar position just at the begining of this month. I didn't had the chance to test one, but a friend who works at a audio shop and deals with hardware like that on a daily basis said that even though the specs are similar to Technics, the torque is a lot weaker. I ended up hunting ebay and buying them one by one. I actually got one 1200mkII and one 1210mkII for about 600 euros. Both in very good condition, and with ortofons installed.

Sure, I don't have the warranty, but they seem solid enough, and I dont think they'll break any time soon. They're built like tanks. And I can record vinyls as well, they just need a bit of cleaning up to do after, which I don't mind.
