Is iac an apple thing? I did try midi bomes and another similar patch software once but I seem to remember you had to actually map stuff you wanted oto automate to a midi controler.

I'd be worried about pushing the wrong button.

yes IAC is native to OSX, so mac only. The PC equivilant is called midi yoke, its free and you should own it!

Yes you have to map stuff to midi controllers, but surely this is how you would record automation anyway? if ur using the mouse u may aswell use a clip envelope...

thanks!
as far as i understand it is not the same.
i also use envelopes into clips, but these can control effects that are already set to a value.
what i expect ableton live to do is to control effects set to "0" value and increment, not only reduce.
am i right?
missed something?

I think you just need to have a play around with it mate.

There is so much you can already do with Ableton, you just have to look for it.

When I buy something i try to learn everything its capable of. Then when i learn what it can't do, i try to find a way to do it :)
