Derek Marin returns to the ID camp with a revamped version of his Blow Away track that was out earlier this year. You’ll recognize his work on labels such as Plastic City, Faucet Music, and Thoughtless, as well as his alias Platonik, which he debuted on Intrinsic Design in 2004. Here he resurrects the alias with a sick remix of the title track, along with a low slung groove intensive version under his own name. If you’re a long time fan or just discovering his recent output, rest assured his gritty NY tech house aesthetic will get you hooked
We’ve long been a fan of Brian Ffar (Siteholder Records), who makes his debut appearance on ID in the form of a jackin’ peak hour remix of Blow Away. This just oozes Chicago funk; updated with his unique twists and turns.
Label founder Mike Bryant, who’s tracks and remixes have found homes on M_nus, Mo’s Ferry, Thoughtless Music and Area Sur, sprinkles some catchy melodic hooks and psychedelic effects on his interpretation. Hypnotic and dubby, his mix is aimed directly at the afterhours minde
