hi. sorry my first post wasnt very clear. basically cubase saves the midi data, but then, say i turn the nova off, and then back on, cubase plays the sound of the first programme in the nova. is there something in need to enable in cubase/the nova, to tell it to remeber which sound i used. hope that makes more sense.
thanks, Felix

this is an email i got from novation. ive done everything it says but its still not remembering what sound i use
Dear Felix,
the easiest way to do this is to move your entire arrangement forward a
couple of bars. Then set the left locator to the very beginning of the
arrangement (not the beginning of your music). Create a new track to
record some data that you send from the Nova, so set this up to receive
from the MIDI interface connection that corresponds to your Nova MIDI
output.
On the Nova, when you are happy with the way your performance is, goto
the global menu. Find the page, sysex transmission. Use one of the data
encoders to the right of the Nova screen to select "single Perf" as the
item to be transmitted. Put Cubase into record, when Cubase is
recording press the 'MIDI' button in the part edit section of the Nova to
activate the data transfer. The Nova screen will show data being transmitted
for a few seconds. When the screen reverts to normal, the Nova will
have stopped transmitting data. Check the midi indicator light in the
transport window has gone out, then stop Cubase from recording. You need to
check that Cubase has recorded the data correctly, this is done by
replaying the data back into the Nova. Try it with something that is not
vital to ensure that this is happening ok.
