Hi,
Currently working on a new series of minimal releases (digital only) and I'm designing the covers right now.
I can't get to choose between designing a simulated 12" (disco bag + label) or simply design a simulated 12" label?
Let me know what you think/prefer.
Check the enclosed image.
THANKS!

New release series: LABEL DESIGN, disco bag or label?
Re: New release series: LABEL DESIGN, disco bag or label?
why should a digital release have a cover that looks like a vinyl release?

don't do the fake vinyl thing, it's stupid.
personally i don't see the point in having artwork to go with an mp3.

I think it's great to have the artwork also when using mp3's/wavs in Traktor, but I think it's silly to make it look like vinyl artwork, no reason for that..tone-def wrote:don't do the fake vinyl thing, it's stupid.

+1 to not doing the 12" label for digital release. Take advantage of the format for each instance.
Go full square.
Another thing to consider is how it looks at those small beatport thumbnails.
Also your logo art is strongly resembling the ever so awesome tic tac toe label trademarkl.

Thanks guys, you convinced me not to go vinyl style. I'll explore the square solution.
No, it's not the logo, I just put a cross there to see its size when simulating a 12" disco bag or the 12" vinyl label.
Regarding the design itself, since this square is quite small weither it's on an online store or Traktor, I'll try and make something very minimal that is still recognizable
at such a small size.
