you probably don't need to know about impedence unless you're plugging the headphones into funny places(i.e. places which don't have a headphone socket... but i can't think of anything that you would want to plug the headpones into other than heapdhone outputs ). impedence is the value of a resistor on the input and output of every piece of audio gear, to allow music electronics to connect to each other. I think it's mainly for safety. I'm 90% you should just ignore the impedence value in this situation.

thanks for your inputs.
Anyone has used them and do you recommend them?

I absolutely agree here. I have the DT 770 and it is good for listening to music but not the best for mixing because the bass is over represented.Raddler wrote:Too much bass......
I also own the DT 880 Pro and have to say that I find these headphones very good for mixing, the sound is more balanced and even.

thank you, so no-one seems to recommend the 770s for mixing... I'll look for something else in the same price range then.

I've gone through so many different pairs and the only one I would really recommend is the sennheiser HD-600's. They are simply amazing headphones... I got them for 275$ used on kijiji.... You should seriously give them a listen.
