TIM XAVIER

Tim Xavier's passion for music has kept him on the forefront of techno since his innovative releases on Blueline in Chicago a decade ago. His career began in Houston in the 90s, and then on to Chicago, Brooklyn and now Berlin, where he has resided since 2007. He is a veteran to the industry; and his dark, edgy production style has remained uncompromised through the ever changing genres of techno and house. He is also the owner and chief engineer at Manmade Mastering in Berlin; and this sleepy-eyed coffee addict defines cool as he cuts master plates for many respected record labels.

Tim’s music has been charted and played by leading artists around the world, and he has worked with many labels such as Cocoon, Minus, Sci-Tec, Podium, Timefog, Little Helpers, Sleaze, Droid Behavior and many more. He is also the owner of his own imprint, LTD400, which encompasses his irresistible combination of quirk, funk, space and drive. Tim spray-paints his signature icon on 400 sleeves of each release, a process that he says connects him more closely to his music and audience. He also works with partner Camea on her imprint Clink Recordings, with Tony Rohr as the ‘Afternoon Coffee Boys’.

On Stage, Tim’s current performances include a mixture of DJing, Live and Effects manipulation, carrying out his visionas he sees fit. He creates a unique experience with his maximal sound quality and music selection, in which he combines loops and pieces from his own production. He is regularly on tour and performing across the globe, capturing his audiences with his signature sound. Tim's relentless devotion to providing cutting edge audio continues to keep him on the forefront of innovative dance music, and as he continues to grow it is apparent that we have still yet to see the best of his work.

DEEPCHILD

Deepchild’s reputation as a reputable techno-force continues to spread. Recent bookings have included Berghain (live), Panoramabar, Tresor (live), Detroit Electronic Music Festival, EXIT Festival, SONAR Festival, Fusion Festival, DECIBEL Festival, Watergate, and a too many more to mention - including live/dj performances in Tokyo, London, Prague, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe.

If the increasingly demanding international schedule of weren’t enough, a continuing string of highly successful 12"s on labels and remixes have well and truly solidified Deepchild’s reputation as a serious ‘contender’ in the saturated international dance-music community.

From ‘big-label’ original releases for labels like Trapez and Resopal Schallware, remix work for legendary producers New Order and Booka Shade (Get Physical), deeper cuts for Affin (German), and Kaato, and serious tech-weapons for BEEF, Om, and SanFrancisco’s Anabatic Records, a steady stream of bouncy, crunked-up tech-house sounds have insured deepchild has remained one of Australia’s most in-demand producers. Butch, Hipp-e, Robert Babicz, Tigerstripes, Jet Project, Worthy, Jimpster and Luomo (amongst others!) have all lent their remix credits to Deepchild 12"s.

The journey has been a long and sonically expansive one. Recent DJ support / chart from the likes of Loco Dice, Chris Liebing, Stacey Pullen, Thomas Schumacher, Troy Peirce, Justin Martin, Ivan Smagghe, Matthias Tanzman, and Abe Duque sits solidly against the proclamations of respected music journal, The Wire, who went as far as to proclaim that this sound was “as sexy and addictive as new-dub electronica gets”.

From tough, stripped-back techno to deep dub explorations, Deepchild has proven a robust producer and highly respected DJ and live performer, and one of the few Australian-born producer/performers to have played the legendary Detroit Electronic Music Festival, as well both the much-coveted main-floor and Panoramabar levels of Berlin’s infamous techno-Mecca Berghain on numerous occasions.

When Stereo-Heaven (the biggest DJ store in Essen, Germany) found that their biggest selling tech-house record was infact written in a small share-house studio in Sydney’s Inner-West (Deepchild’s “No Disgrace”, on Future Classic), they took the time to make special mention of what is indicative of Deepchild’s head-turning appeal: “Over here in my hometown in Germany, we really love “No Disgrace”! It’s by far the best selling record in our new local shop, too. From deep or tech house to minimal DJs, hiphop and electronica fans - everybody is into that 3-tracker. Really an amazing 12" you’ve created!”.

More recently, Deepchild has produced #1-sellers for Anabatic Records and Cologne’s finest - Trapez.

Freerange Record’s ‘tech-house institution’, Milton Jackson, phrased is rather more succinctly, “Oh My God. I think you are my new hero”.

DAVID JAVATE

David Javate , formerly known as Javaight, is a San Francisco based DJ and producer.  David’s love has always been towards the deeper side of house and techno. As is evident in his contributions to SF nightlife with the techno oriented events Killswitch and Optimal, and the deep house night, Staple, David continues to showcase deeper genres with a style which acknowledges house and techno’s pioneers while also welcoming today’s innovators. Showing the diversity of being able to play during different moods of the night, David always strives to take the listener on a journey, and make an audio collage which moves the mind and body.

As a veteran DJ from Washington DC, David moved to San Francisco in 1998. Noticing a deficiency in genres he wanted to explore, David started the Optimal Group.   He coordinated a successful string of parties called Optimal, which featured Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Ken Ishii, Mike Dearborn, John Tejada, DJ Pierre, Kenny Larkin, Gemini, and EBE.

After Optimal, David reunited with fellow Washington DC DJ Fil Latorre to coordinate a number of events under the Staple moniker. Focusing on what the pair call “Future house and Deep Techno”, Staple has featured DJs such as Mark Henning, Kenny Larkin, Mike Huckaby, Kate Simko, John Tejada, Pepe Bradock, Jeno, Glenn Underground, Lance De Sardi, Theo Parrish, Mark E. Quark, Markie, and Alton Miller.

In 2008 David teamed up with Black Market Techno DJ dCOY, to produce the weekly event Killswitch, which focused on Bay Area techno & house talent. Killswitch has featured talented artists such as Alland Byallo, Dave Aju, Drumcell, Clint Stewart, Keith Kemp, Safety Scissors, Jason Short, Joshua Iz, Limacon, Kit Clayton and Sutekh.

Currently, David continues to DJ regularly, and holds residencies at Darkroom, Killswitch, Redlight & Afternoon Delight, and is also a frequent guest at a number of SF nightclubs and underground events. When not DJ-ing, David is in the studio working on solo projects and collaborating with a number of San Francisco producers, such as Nude Photo Music producer Gold Code, and Fedora's Mike Perry.
