How many of you guys are running Ableton live 8 on a Mac with Snow leopard without any issues?
I seem to remember some people complaining of issues with Ableton on the mac. (this was nearly a year ago)
I think it was Hydrogen..?
I don't really want to fork out of live and have it be really unreliable.
Cheers
Lem

macbookpro from march 2008, 4gb ram
ableton suite 8
I am running the same thing, and, no issues. When I was using Windows as my OS on my HP laptop I always ran into issues with Ableton. Once I converted to MAC I have been happy.
Best thing in my 22 year computer life, was the switch from pc to mac.

I believe its safe now... thank fucking god. I don't see the crashes at all... and if there is some its because of a faulty vst.lem wrote:ning of issues with Ableton on the mac. (this was nearly a year ago)

I question its performance once in a while... but i think its because i have too much stuff on the mac. harddrive is over 85% full...
gonna upgrade to a desktop soon.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
I have a few more questions, probably better asked in Ableton forums. But I cant log in coz of the spam protection! grr
Can I have a midi loop playing, then live record another clip on the same channel without music stopping or glitching?
I have only seen Ableton being used like any other Daw would be used.

not on the same channel but you can do this on an extra channel no problem. You can either route the audio to that additional channel or set that channel to only receive audio from a specific channel. Then you can freely record the input from it.lem wrote:Thanks for the replies everyone.

Or you can use the new looper device. its pretty cool but takes some getting used to.
