Perc Trax returns with the 4th EP in its 'Naughty Gold' remix series, where a selection of Perc Trax tracks get a final remix from another of the label’s artists. Volume 4 continues the evolution of the Perc Trax sound currently epitomised by Forward Strategy Group, Sawf, Donor/Truss and of course Perc himself. Expect a blend of sharp-edged, industrial-tinged techno.
First up is Sawf remixing a lost gem from Perc, the original mix of which slipped out as a digital release a few years back. Sawf's remix of 'Benwell' strips Perc's original down to a raw, broken groove. A lot more from Sawf is coming later this year and this is a perfect teaser of what the Greek boy-wonder has been cooking up.
Next Perc takes Hans Bouffmyhre's 'No Trace' and loops the original mix's string & synth lines over jackin' 909 handclaps.
Finally newcomer Leo Cavallo takes Donor/Truss' 'Indifference 1' and delivers a sublime dub-techno soundscape that bodes well for his own future productions.
