Camel - 48 Hz / Tremor / Bayon (Dark Stuff)

Post by Camel »

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to help me out!

So, I'm really into dark tracks with lots of ambiance and deep grooving basses. My best tries so far are these three tracks. Still, I think it's missing something.. What do you think? Are there some problems in the mix? Does it need more elements (percussion? sub?)

48hz definitely needs more elements / stuff going on. The wobbly bass quickly gets annoying, definitely needs more attention.

I think you nailed the dark minimal genre with bayon. Avoid the reverbed monolake-ish synth stabs, keep the bass low, and you've got it. Just like you did in bayon. I'd play it.

Thanks for the feedback Lewis. I'll try and improve 48 Hz. Maybe pull out the bass once or twice so it's less constant/annoying.

Anyone else has any suggestions on improving my tracks (mix- and musicwise)? Much appreciated!

I agree with what Christ Lewis said. 48 hz needs to evolve more. I would also say the same for Tremor. Its a nice idea but needs to evolve a little more. Bayon on the other hand is pretty much there. A great tune. I really enjoyed it. Good work! 8)

Thanks for the comments on my tracks. Very nice to get some honest feedback!

I was going to develop the tracks, but instead I made a new one, which I will post shortly.
:)

EDIT: I see now that you're Iguana Twins on soundcloud, when I get back from work today, I'll have a listen to your stuff.
