EQs in ableton

Post by daedum »

ive been djing with ableton lately and been unsatisfied with the eqs. I know i can run the channels thru a dj mixer but id like your opinion on the eqs. When i use the EQ three (sort of the basic one) i feel like the upper 75% of the knob gets the most use. Anthing lower is so subtle its hard to hear. Anyone else feel the same? I can see how they could be useful in a live PA situation, but dj mixing a song doesn't seem as useful. Plus since im using the top 75% of the knob, its like im mini mixing.

definatly go for the eq 4, I was toying with these the other day, and they are a great improvement on the previous 3 band.

Depends on how you have the EQ set. If parts of the spectrum are above 0 dB, they will be boosted, and if they're below 0 dB, they'll be cut.
