I can't even hear a kick. It sounds like a song played through an old radio. Where is the bass?

As for advice, I'd leave the kick out entirely, if you're looking for sound like that. Or high-pass your kick at 800hz. And the bass for that matter.

get a jomox.

A while ago they invented something called youtube and there you'll find are a hundreds of kick tutorials on the internet...

if you follow any of them.. you'll come up with some good techniques for making any kind of kick. better than just learning how to make a specific one.

or get a jomox... haha.. but you'll still need to know more about production to get the sound you want. do the tutorials.

Probably man... you can make kicks from practically any synth... its just that these "specialized" are geared for it.

Are you familiar with the operator in ableton? there are lots of tutorials about how to make bass kicks with the operator. and you can get some nasty deep kicks out of that thing.

Anyways... if you apply these tutorial concepts to your DSI you probably could.

Essentially you can make envelope 3 assign to the pitch of the your oscilator you'll be able to make a kick.

I'll try it later today, my DSI tetra is pissing me off because the output isn't balanced on the left and right channel and i can't figure out how to make it so. :(

how unbalanced is it? i'd be happy just using it in mono.

Jeff, change the global setting to "mono." That's how it works with the Mopho at least.

3db of difference. quite significant to me. and this is running it in "mono".

Anybody else with a tetra experience similarities?

EDIT: i updated the OS and you can adjust the panning of each oscilator.... i did this and was able to get it close... but its still annoying that its not flat on both sides. I'm used to digital precision with vst... so i'm not sure if this is "normal" or not in external gear. it certainly isn't on my Korg MX1.
