DE-9 Closer to the Edit should be at the top of the list. It's the only mix on there that instantly made a niche genre into an industry. Can't think of any other mix CD having such a huge influence. I know it's a matter of taste but I can't honestly see how Magda's mix is up so much higher. While good it's based on all the concepts pioneered in closer to the edit. I know which one I will remember in ten years.
Maybe without closer to the edit we might not even have this forum.

There is also one of the Triple R mix cd's on Kompakt that is really really good, and fits perfectly in the same style as this Dan Bell and the Michael Mayer...ParanoidDancer wrote:I must admit that I haven't heard that one yet. Will def check it out after your recommendation.patrick bateman wrote:That Dan Bell mix is FANTASTIC !
Can't really argue with the top two either.
DE9-2 should be HIGHER
Craig Richards Fabric 01 is one of my favs
Swayzak Fabric 11 should be HIGHER
That Magda dancing machine should be LOWER
(imo of course)
The best thing about these lists is that we can now go back and discover / re discover anything that might've slipped by unnoticed. There's a hell of a lot it seems!
