[Melenick Session] 12 | L'embrouille - Netlabel Mix Week 46

Post by DJ L'embrouille »

After some mixes, i've finally decided to make a post here to talk about them (perhaps it could interest some of you). I make a mix per week in netradio to promote netlabel stuffs and lot of them sound mnml. the last one was this one :

Week46Mix

with several stuffs appreciated here (unfound13, igloo05, after dinner 09, kyoto 11... playlist below).

i also want to tell in this topic that a law is going to be voted in this end of december in France against free music and free softs. to resume, it could be very nuisible for free cultures and music diffusion. i don't know if anyone have yet heard about it. i can tell more about this if anyone is interested and give links to sites which talk of that. it this law is voted, perhaps it could after happen in your country !

ok, so perhaps it's one of my last mixes ! :? enjoy it

sure, in France everything is possible if it deals with money. i don't have time to explain it now (will try to do it tonight). you can find explication (in french) here : http://eucd.info/ and use google translator. the law project is called DADVSI. perhaps you can find english explication via google. or i find this one : http://www.infos-du-net.com/en/actualit ... ADVSI.html

only text is not concerned by the law !!

To resume :

The French government plans to introduce a draconian copyright law, the DADVSI, to be discussed in parliament on December 20th and 21st, as Eric Nunès reports in Le Monde. DADVSI would impose criminal penalties for activities that until now have been considered fair use, such as making backups of music or video that one owns.

Cory Doctorow reports on this on boingboing.

The site EUCD.info is a clearing house for information in English and in French, including a petition (in French) against the proposed law.

Copyright law and associated lobbies are getting soooo bloody redicilous. It's not helping anyone! Definitely not the industries that they claim to be defending anyway...

Many many thanks for the support, and that law is ridiculous... the artists must have the right to decide whether they want their music to be free or not.

Besos from Argentina,
