Hi
im now producing music for at least 4 years
first on reason for a year and now on ableton
for me it is very hard to finish a whole damn song
i always make loops and then i delete it
so im looking for a partner to get the drive to finish a song
i got off from work till next year so i got plenty of time
let me know
ableton collab
I've heard about this problem and experienced it personally. I wonder if it's worse in ableton because of the loop view window ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
In the same way that you have to learn how to make a good loop, or produce something well, you have to learn how to make a good composition... study, experiment and practice. But doing this with someone else sounds like a good plan!

what's happening is your making some loops then leaving it. when you work on a track you need to get a structure planned out before you save > close > go pub. so when you come back to it in 2 days time it's just a matter of filling in the gaps.
also if you want to collaborate over the internet it's better to do it with someone with a different set ups. both using ableton isn't going to work as we all use different plug ins anyway. best way to work like that is someone makes a load of loops and then send those over to the other guy and let him make a track out of it with whatever he wants. then he sends the track back for approval and the loop guy can say if anything else needs doing.

+9000. The only thing a partner will do is slow you down on the decision making process. on the plus side you might be making more "educated decisions" because both of your combined experience.miro pajic wrote:all a matter of making "decisions" without being stuck playing around!
have a goal in your mind and don't lose it...that's all.

thanks for all the advices
it is not only to finish some song
i think it is also mad fun to create something with someone else
and see other producing techniques
i never did a collab but i think a collab with someone with the same daw would be easier because the arrangement otherwise one person only needs to make the whole song
