apc 40 or the UC 33???

hey ,

Could anyone advise me what would suit me better...the apc 40 or the UC 33.

i am just entering the world of digital 'live' producing . after seeing marc houle, gaiser etc using ableton with a uc 33...but then i saw the apc 40.

Which would you go for??

get a UC-33

and a novation launch pad $199 or less

cheaper and in my eyes better solution.

What do you carry your apc around in? Cumbersome?

i do like the look of the uc 30...more compact...and i think the apc would take too long to master, wasting quality creative time trying to work out its infinite options!

mmmm..first need to get rid of a pair of mk2 cdj 800 to fund the new setup..oh and upgrade to mac book pro

if you're using Ableton i'd definitely go for the APC40 or LaunchPad. the APC integrates so well with Live it's almost unbelievable, pretty much the same with the LaunchPad (though i really like the extra features of the APC). it doesn't take a lot of time to get into the APC, it's set up perfectly and is completely intuitive. not sure i could deal with the uc33, though it's pretty popular (mainly due to the fact that it's been around so long).

all are great devices. get them all. can't speak for the others but don't expect your uc33 to last more than a year.

with the apc 40, i notice there are no knobs above the channels for eq...i guess its not your standard mixer layout...so i can assign a low eq cut to a knob on the top right ?
