"William, are you here?" Grauerholz caled into the bowels of the Bunker. "Yes," came back the disembodied voice, managing to sound neutral and resigned at the same time.
Burroughs was prowling around the strange bare space. He was quite formally attired in a suit, tie neatly tied, a very business-like pair of shoes. Everything but the hat. Totally lit by artificial light and almost devoid of furniture, the Bunker had a way of echoing. It seemed completely timeless.
