Do yourself a favor and pay a real mastering engineer to master your music for you.

Once you have a decent engineer cut your first record, you will be happy to pay the cost.

+1 don't really need much more than that if your mix is good.

Also, do a search like the first guy said.

Seach for "Master" or "Mastering" and read every post.

You mastering job will sound no where near as good as a (decent) mastering engineer will do. Most of them use proper hardware compressors/limiter/etc to do their work. I suppose some use software, but I'm willing to be most don't.

While it's true, the mix should be good enough to stand on it's own, a mastering job is icing on the cake.

Plus, you shouldn't master a song on the same speakers you wrote it on (I heard that somewhere once).

"platinumnotes"

.. its no real mastering programm but a little helpful software that :

,,Platinum Notes makes your tracks sound incredibly smooth. Designed by professional DJs and musicians, Platinum Notes improves your files and gives them warmth, perfect volume, and correct pitch. It removes distortion and clipped peaks.

You can sit back while Platinum Notes scans your entire music collection and generates perfect music files that will keep the dance floor bouncing."

... it cause no wonder but give your mix or track a consistent sound ...

You know one mastering system, I picked up recently is this...

http://www.har-bal.com/

I'm not expert in it but from using this you can quickly shape up the tone of your music. I'm not talking about using the EQ match stuff but the way it deals with frequency balancing is pretty intuitive.

I like the "air" function, i'm not sure of the quality of the limiter... dunno if anybody else has tried this here.
