Hello,
I'm new. My name is Simon, i'm French !!!!
I have a question about synthesis. I produce lot of electro or progressive sound, i use Subtractive synthesis.
Now I want produce some Minimal tracks. I like synth sound like Station 72, for this synth i need to use FM ?
I think FM is best for minimal (analog for fat bass) ?
Thanks.
What synthesis for minimal ?

Seriously though, all forms of synthesis have their place and can be used in a myriad of ways. The best way to create unique sounds is learning how to synthesize sounds from scratch. Simple pitch changes and filters on basic tones can produce fantastic results. I've been having a lot of fun with Soundforge's basic tone generator, a filter and a pitch bend.
Man, I wish they would release Soundforge for Mac's. I'm sick of doing it ass backwards through Crossover.
Analog synths are fatter and warmer. I've just recently stepped into the world of analog and it's true. It just sounds better. I suppose some people are capable of emulating it with software, but it's nice how it's proper from the time you turn on the synth without any effects.
