Smashing new release for romanian artist SER http://www.myspace.com/sersound ! Two tracks delivering a bouncy and bumpin vibe on Purple Diamonds and a deep and slightly progressive house baseline groover with Quartz.
Purple Diamonds is already in the bag of some big deejay names such as Mark Knight, The Scumfrog, Tony Humphries and Dj Dove.

REVIEW from DEAN SERAFINI

SER - Purple Diamonds EP [Sweetleaf Recordings]
The EP contains two tracks kicking things off with the title track. “Purple Diamonds”is a fierce techy affair that builds from a deep start with an array of synths doing most of the damage. Personally I’ve been more drawn to “Quartz” which is a deeper, more atmospheric production containing modern deep tech style synths and old school Detroit chords.

Purple Diamonds - I am liking this track. Has a large stage feel to it and will do well in the hands of House Sound of LA.
Filled with the necessary dancefloor triggers that were so evident on the Miami floors this year. great mastering and cool laid back construction.
Quartz - nice mellow big room sounds with the subtle breakdown to nothingness. great for those long and captivating dj sets. Can see this having the support of the big name djs worldwide. Elements are very reminiscent to the old days. Makes me smile.
Will support this EP.
With your guidance SER will be a name to reckoned with for the future.
thank you Enrico :)

Of the two tracks I find "Quartz" much more to my liking than the title track. I prefer its deeper more laid back sound.

Another couple of sweet leaves here - difficult to call between them - both have a "back in the day" homage about them, but full of todays deep tech modern feel. Will no doubt add some vox as I tend not to play completely minimalist.
