Looking for brushed snare breaks

Post by Opuswerk »

Hi y'all,

I'm on the look for some jazzy brushed snare loops or brushed cymbals.
Could be any tempo as long as it's the only thing present in the break :)

Trying to get out of the too obvious ride sound to get a jazzy feel.

hope you got some tips :)

go to a vinylstore or some other crapy place with cheap jazz records. buy, record, chop, rerange. Welcome to the world of sampling.

billy cobham is somebody you should look for. Just don't trap yourself in the too old jazz records. 70's till now are the best imo. Or you wanna have those old foggy sounds.

only downside of the kit it doesnt contain that many brushed snares

also a good tip to make a track jazzy
download the midi file of take five and play arround with it.

go to a music store with lots of drums set up. grab a brush stick and hit record on your field recorded and go to town. I doubt they would mind.
