No Maetrik or Convextion @ Detroit Movement festival??

Well i'm hoping it has nothing to do with the fact they're both from Dallas, really good friends (ie Mariel Ito vs ERP on AI records), and not hugely hyped. Putting "Dallas" next to your name isn't very popular unfortunately.

I wrote Paxahau though. We'll see if there's time to hook something up.

i just got back from dallas, 2nd time in 3 months. i went to mckinney st, and greenville ave. all i saw was hip hop and one dance club that had justice/boys noize stuff on and people were dressed from the 80's and 70's in that place. i am now shocked a mnml techno legend such as convextion came from there.

Convextion : he should be in the top 10 people to play in my opinion. I could agree more. it's very political : and sad...

very conformed to multiple years of commercial energy that has transformed it even further into a mass of sh!t..

I truly may not attend this year. first time ever. last year I had a free weekend pass, went down to see hearthrob play live, ended up staying to hear magda & richie and then went home. was there a total for 3-4 hours.. and to me I truely can't stand festival sets...

I think it's completely catered to commercial stupidness and the much smaller and limited after hours are the only thing I can really get into anymore..

^^ some of the after-parties are generally where it's at, if there is a real vibe to be had.

I'd like to see both of them there. I heard Maetrik last year at one of the DEMF afterparties...was intense, massive stuff - about 1 am until 7 am or so...at which point I dropped off for sleep.
