Writers(?) Block

Post by Sipe »

Lately I've been in sort of a creative funk and it gets to be very frustrating when I just can't seem to produce. I sit at the keys and try to play but it just dosen't work. How do you all overcome dry spells like this?

by not doing music.

riding the bike, taking photos or something else.
Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

try to focus in on a different way of making music....or finally learn what those set of buttons do over there....and exploit that for awhile and then use that new knowledge for inspiration

there's no cure for writers block
it's part of the game

what i do to avoid it, is to to do different things
don't sit too much in the studio, read a book now and then
try to vary your activities, it's good sometimes to take week off from the music and do non-musical things... now and then you have to give your mind some rest

Not doing any music is a good idea, or if you really want to do something:

Try making interesting sound patches on your synthesizer.

stay away from the studio!

go back only when you feel you have way to many ideas in your head.

good luck

start a trite and meaningless relationship destined for disaster, pretend you are madly in love onlly to have your heart destroyed, let the sorrow be your guide.......

or try a new program for a few days
