Venue in San Francisco Area???

Post by superk »

Ok to those west coast USA'ers....

Does anyone know of a venue in the San Francisco area that I could run a small night at. I have actually just moved here from Belfast, Ireland and I would like to get something going on a monthly basis. I was involved with some really successful nights in Belfast over the last year or so with loads of great DJ's and we really want to run something here in the USA in parallel with one of those nights. The problem I am running into is finding somewhere suitable to begin this night cause lets be honest i'm not going to pay a minimum bar fee of 6 grand on the hope that we get 300 people out all buying loads of booze.....

The other problem is that i'm new to the area so don't know the scene here very well.

Anyone got any little secrets?

Is there anyone on here from San Fran that would be keen to get involved with running something?

Cheers,
Si

i am in sf as well,

to be honest, there are 5 million people trying to throw parties, seems like the spots are pretty much booked solid.

I got a sound system, so when summer rolls around lets talk and do some outdoor stuff

i wasn't going to say this because i don't live there and don't know 100%, but my best friend does and she's told me the same thing.

doesn't killswitch do a party that starts at like 6p and goes until 10p or something weird, simply because there's already something after it (albeit a gay party).

killswitch has a sick party, but the after one sucks.

OP there is just so much, you have to have something to offer the people already doing events.

With two European tours under his belt already, including two performances at the widely touted Berghain in Berlin (Voted by ResidentAdvisor.net as the 1 club in the world), rounded off with a stop at the Dance Valley festival in Amsterdam last summer, Kyle is certainly prepared for the big things that 2009 is already promising to bring. ........
