Belgian conspirators Sierra Sam and Marcus Vector have established themselves as leading forces in the underground techno scene in their own country, and more recently throughout Europe. Aside from running their own label ToysForBoys, Sam and Marcus have played in clubs throughout Europe (e.g. Fabric, Tresor, Watergate) with their respective live and DJ sets. Recently, the duo began a house-oriented project D.I.Y. (Dumb Irresponsible Youth) for TuningSpork Records, but they now return to their home base for more looming techno with the All Together EP.
The moody title track, led by the refrain “you’re not alone”, comes in two variations: the piano version highlighted by a relaxed Rhodes lead, and the stripped-down, stark Dubby version.
B-side “Mirror” begins with propulsive rhythmic components joined by a somber wah-wah melody, which forms into multiple layers of itself, fluttering about like leaves in the wind.
