Questions about Synth 1

Everything I did before was sample based, so now that I'm almost exclusively using Synth 1 to produce, I have a lot of questions. I'll continue to post them here as they come up. First...

Whenever I use the compression in Synth 1, there is a pop at the beginning of each note. I think it's a non-zero-crossing? The only way I've found to get rid of it is to turn the attack way way up, but obviously that ruins that sound I want. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I get rid of the click sound?

I would prefer if I could continue using the compression in Synth 1 instead of an outside effect as it uses less RAM. I'm using Ableton 7 if it makes any difference.

Which version do you have? I wasn't even aware it had a compressor built in.

Did you try to turn down the "level" knob of the effect?

i think the compressor is in the top right hand corner, along with a couple of other things that can be selected from a drop down menu there.

personally havent had that problem before though.
