Monitors

Post by Artificial »

Im looking for monitors, but I dont have a lot of money.. so I could use some info about (reasonable) quality monitors, that dont cost a fortune.
Dont think I can go over €200/piece..
Ive searched, but I really dont know what to look for.
Thx

I bought the Esi nEAR 05 1 Year ago, 180€ for the pair - I'm still trying to get a feeling for them, but I think they lack of a good low frequency monitoring (speakers are only 5"). Maybe not the right monitors for mixing clubmusic... Always switching to my hifi-system.

I heard that these are good in the low price sector:

Would be exactly what you want to spend ;)

i got rp5 and an rp10 sub.
I was really happy of them until i got some really good grado headphones. Then I realized that they actually didn't sound so good.

The reall trick is to constantly a/b your tracks and to play them on loads of different speakers, hi-fi, your gf ipod buds, car radio. Then you'll know your speakers and how to deal with how they sound.

One thing that is also often underspoken in such threads is how important room acoustics are. cause they will change the way you hear far more drastically than any thing else.

Fostex has some cheap ones, that are quite okay vs the price...
